Instant bond ?!?
I am amazed at the instant bond that forms between a surrogate and her IP(s). Initially I had always thought it was me, but time and time again I see it with the matches I have made. I started wondering how and why this happens. We are talking about virtual strangers forming a relationship founded on adoration and respect and often a sense of love. I think that these feelings are needed to strengthen the trust between all those involved in the process. Let's face it...it is not an easy thing on either side. You have to trust someone who you don't "really" know to grow your child(ren) and have faith that they will do all the right things. That is a HUGE task. On the other side, you have to sacrifice your body and emotional health to help someone else start or expand their family. Nothing about surrogacy is easy! It is emotionally, financially, and physically draining. Yet it happens everyday and it is astonishing to be a part of. It is a complement to the human race and the good we are capable of. I am inspired everyday with the people that I meet through surrogacy and it helps me keep a healthy perspective in my life. I am asked all the time why I did it or want to continue doing it, and there is no way to make someone on the outside see just how awesome it is.

Surrogacy is a journey...
and every journey is unique and special. I am honored every time I am asked to be part of someone's experience. I feel selfish, in a sense, getting to be part of something so special and amazing! There are many things in my life that have led me to this path. Starting out working in an IVF lab, becoming and egg donor and eventually a gestation surrogate (twice, hoping for a third). I have a limited number of pregnancies in me, so creating an agency seemed like a natural step. It seemed a waste to not put all this passion, knowledge and crazy organization to good use. I am not sure where this blog will go, but I thought it would be nice to share the story from this unique perspective. Enjoy :-)
